Tico and the Golden Wings

Story

Three dark, speckled birds stand on pink legs beside a green shrub topped with purple-blue flowering spikes. Their mottled feathers contrast with the bright blooms, giving the scene a calm, natural quality. The image comes from Tico and the Golden Wings, created in 1964 by Leo Lionni (1910–1999), a children's writer, designer, and graphic artist with ties to Italy and American citizenship.

Where it works

A cool-toned figure study suited to kids' rooms and kitchens, and to hotel guest rooms, in a horizontal format.
