Two Studies of a Child's Head

Story

A sheet shows a curly-haired child's head drawn twice in profile, each study turned to face away from the other, set against aged tan parchment. The drawing presents two gentle studies of the same young subject, exploring the head from differing angles. The work comes from Leonardo da Vinci (1452–1519), an Italian artist associated with the Renaissance and the High Renaissance, who also worked as an anatomist and architect.
