Still Life with Compote and Fruit

Story

Fruit lies scattered across a white cloth, accompanied by a bowl of berries, rendered in deep browns, reds, purples, and whites. The composition is an oil painting by Marsden Hartley (1877–1943), an American artist associated with Expressionism. Held at the Phoenix Art Museum, the piece came to the collection as a gift honoring Lorenz and Joan Anderman.
