Woman Washing Hands

Story

A woman leans over a wooden basin at her vanity, caught mid-task as she washes her hands. She wears a striped skirt, and nearby a mirror and pitcher appear amid muted blues, greens, and earth tones. The scene is rendered in drypoint with color aquatint by Mary Cassatt (1844–1926), an American artist associated with Impressionism, also known for Little Girl in a Blue Armchair.

Where it works

Pastel artwork suited to bedrooms and hallways, and to hotel guest rooms, in a vertical format.
