Story

Small blocks, curved arcs, and dotted circles scatter across a pale backdrop, rendered in black, yellow, orange, red, blue, and green. The arrangement feels rhythmic, almost musical, built from watercolor and ink on paper in 1924. Los Angeles County Museum of Art holds it, received as a fractional and promised gift.
