Story

Snow blankets a quiet garden at dawn, with a pavilion standing near a twisted old tree while two figures move through the foreground. Soft light suggests the stillness of early morning after a fresh snowfall. This scene was made as a color woodblock print in 1924. The artist, Miki Suizan (1887–1957), worked as a painter and printmaker within the Empire of Japan.
