Story
A woman dressed in a kimono patterned in blue and red lowers her eyes in quiet concentration, her dark hair arranged in a traditional upswept style accented with a gold ornament. The image comes from a color woodblock print made in 1928, titled Before the Mirror. Its creator, Natori Shunsen (1886–1960), was a Japanese printmaker and illustrator connected to the ukiyo-e tradition.
