Story

A seated woman draws a comb through her long black hair, dressed in a patterned garment of blue and purple set against a plain beige backdrop. The quiet moment is rendered as a color woodblock print made in 1928 by Natori Shunsen (1886–1960), a Japanese printmaker and illustrator associated with the Nihonga movement. The piece belongs to the Toledo Museum of Art's collection.
