Story

A black vase holds a cluster of yellow blooms and leafy stems, while loose blue flowers scatter near the lower left corner, all set against a soft beige background. The composition is rendered in pastel on paper, completed in 1909. The French artist Odilon Redon (1840–1916) worked within Symbolism, and he is also known for his piece Les Yeux clos.
