Three Vases of Flowers

Story

Two blue vases hold a loose gathering of flowers in red, yellow, white, and pink, set on a yellow surface against a tan background. The blooms spill outward in uneven clusters, giving the grouping a relaxed, unplanned feel. Odilon Redon (1840–1916) made this piece, and his work is associated with Symbolism. He was also known as a draftsperson, graphic artist, and lithographer, and among his notable works is Les Yeux clos.

Where it works

Suited to dining rooms and bedrooms, and to restaurants, in a vertical format.
