Still Life: Flowers in a Vase

Story

A white vase holds a cluster of red, white, and purple blossoms, each centered with yellow, set before a soft blend of dusky pink and gray tones. Patrick Henry Bruce, an American painter (1881–1936), completed this oil composition in 1911, during a period when he engaged with cubism. The piece entered the Baltimore Museum of Art through a collection assembled by Dr. Claribel Cone and Miss Etta Cone of Baltimore, Maryland.
