A Woman For Gods

Story

A simplified face emerges from a dense field of color, its features traced in a thin red line against a backdrop glowing with red, white, and pink. The image dates from 1938, part of the artist's abstract work from that year. Paul Klee, German-Swiss, worked within Bauhaus and Expressionism, and his piece is held at the Beyeler Foundation.
