Story
A pale ground holds angular blocks of yellow, purple, and gray, arranged alongside a moon shape and silhouettes suggesting trees. The forms feel suspended between flat geometry and a hint of landscape, as if night and shape were merging into one quiet scene. Paul Klee made this piece using watercolour over oil transfer on chalk-primed paper in 1920. Klee, who lived 1879–1940, worked within the Bauhaus movement and also engaged with Expressionism.
