Story
Angular triangles and rectangles interlock across the surface, rendered in earthy browns, warm yellows, deep reds, and touches of blue, while two round shapes hover above the jagged forms like suns or moons watching over the scene. Painted in oil in 1929, the piece carries the geometric clarity associated with Paul Klee's Bauhaus years. The German-Swiss artist's work entered the Yale University Art Gallery through the Katharine Ordway Collection.
