Story
A small village rises in warm brown tones, its clock tower picked out in yellow and green cross-hatching among stylized houses. The piece was made with oil on cardboard mounted on panel in 1925 by Paul Klee (1879–1940), a German-Swiss artist linked to the Bauhaus and to Expressionism. It entered the collection as a fractional and promised gift, now held at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
Where it works
Warm-toned artwork suited to dens and media rooms, and to hotel guest rooms, in a horizontal format.
