Arrowhead

Story

White blossoms open above broad leaves on a slender arrowhead plant, its form set against a backdrop of blue water. Small insects rest among underwater greenery nearby, rendered in soft green and blue tones. The piece is a hand-colored engraving titled Arrowhead. Pierre Joseph Buchoz, a French botanist, entomologist, and jurist who lived from 1731 to 1807, created this detailed study blending plant life with aquatic creatures.
