Story

A cluster of deep purple grapes hangs from a twisting vine, surrounded by green leaves, while a small bird with brown and white feathers rests on a nearby stem, set against a plain cream backdrop. The piece is a hand-colored engraving. Its creator, Pierre Joseph Buchoz (1731–1807), was a French botanist who also worked as an entomologist and a jurist.
