Purple bellied blue winged bird with purple flowering vine

Story

A small bird with a deep purple belly and blue-tinged wings rests on a branch, set against a climbing vine bearing white and purple blooms amid green foliage. The composition is rendered as a hand-colored engraving. The piece comes from Pierre Joseph Buchoz, a French naturalist who lived from 1731 to 1807 and worked as a botanist, entomologist, and jurist, documenting natural subjects through detailed illustrated plates.
