Red lotus with mandarin duck

Story

A vivid red lotus opens above green leaves, its stem rising over water where a mandarin duck glides below, the whole scene set against a plain cream background. The image appears as a hand-colored engraving, rendered with watercolor-like delicacy. It carries the title Red lotus with mandarin duck. The work comes from Pierre Joseph Buchoz, a French botanist who lived from 1731 to 1807 and also worked as an entomologist and jurist.
