Story
A riverside neighborhood unfolds with apartment buildings crowding the shore, bare trees lining the water's edge, scattered dockside structures, and a bridge stretching across the current, all painted in greens, browns, and earthy tones. The piece, titled Across the River, was made in 1969 using oil. It comes from Ralph Fasanella (1914–1997), an American painter who also worked as a trade unionist, known for Subway Riders.
