Story

Rows of colorful apartment buildings line a dark street, their windows glowing against the night, while cars sit parked along the curb and figures move across the pavement below. The scene captures a quiet urban evening full of lit facades and city texture. Ralph Fasanella painted this oil work in 1967. He was an American painter and trade unionist, also known for Subway Riders. The piece came to the Milwaukee Art Museum as a gift from Richard and Erna Flagg.
