Story

A busy diner fills the scene, with people seated along the counter and others standing between the tables. The composition leans on strong blues, reds, pinks, and black, while a checkered floor pattern grounds the space below the figures. Ralph Fasanella painted this oil work in 1980. Fasanella, an American painter and trade unionist (1914–1997), is also known for Subway Riders. The piece comes courtesy of Andrew Edlin Gallery.
