Happy and Bud's Gas Station

Story

A vivid green wall anchors a gas station interior, its contents spread out in a horizontal arrangement across the surface. Yellow wooden compartments hold tools and supplies, each rendered in vivid colors that give the scene a lively, patterned feel. The piece was painted in oil in 1968. Ralph Fasanella (1914–1997), an American painter and trade unionist, also created Subway Riders.
