Luncheonette

Story

Diner life unfolds at a counter, where patrons sit close together as a woman behind the bar attends to them. The palette stays subdued, built from blues, browns, and warm flesh tones that give the scene a quiet, everyday feel. Ralph Fasanella painted this oil work titled Luncheonette in 1987. An American painter and trade unionist (1914–1997), he also created Subway Riders.
