Story

Yankee Stadium appears from above, tucked into a dense city block of brick buildings, with the whole scene painted in greens, blues, reds, and browns. The crowded neighborhood presses close around the ballpark, giving the night game a sense of being woven into everyday urban life. Ralph Fasanella made this oil painting in 1981. He was an American painter and trade unionist. The piece came to the Fenimore Art Museum as a gift from Maurice and Margo Cohen.
