Story

Tall banana plants rise in dense rows under a bright sky scattered with white clouds, their broad green leaves filling most of the composition with layered texture. The deep blue overhead gives the scene strong contrast against the plantation's vivid greenery. This oil on canvas was completed in 1985 by René Genis, a French painter and printmaker who lived from 1922 to 2004.
