Eiffel Tower

Story

The Eiffel Tower rises in broken geometric planes, its structure scattered into shards of yellow, orange, green, and purple. The painting was made in oil in 1924 by Robert Delaunay, a French painter born in 1885 and died in 1941, associated with Orphism and simultanism. The work entered the Saint Louis Art Museum as a gift from Mr. and Mrs. Morton D. May, joining his body of work alongside pieces like Hommage to Blériot.
