Story

Nude figures mingle with the silhouette of the Eiffel Tower, broken into overlapping shapes of blue, yellow, purple, and skin tones, creating a sense of layered motion and light. Painted in oil in 1911 by Robert Delaunay (1885–1941), a French painter linked to Neo-impressionism, Orphism, and simultanism, the canvas pushes figuration toward color-driven abstraction. The Toledo Museum of Art holds the piece, acquired through the Libbey Endowment.
