The Queen

Story

A pair of fiery orange and crimson blooms rise on green stalks, flanked by broad, shadowy and lighter foliage, set before a distant range of hills. Robert John Thornton created this coloured plate, engraved in aquatint, stipple and line, in 1799, titled The Queen.
