Bamboo, Pine and Peacocks

Story

A peacock displays its ornate plumage while resting under a twisted old pine, with stalks of bamboo rising nearby, all rendered on paper that has darkened with age. The piece combines ink and color pigments in a traditional manner. Shen Nanpin, who lived from 1682 to 1760, worked as a painter under Chinese citizenship within the Qing dynasty era of artistic production and craftsmanship.
