Story

Two women dressed in patterned robes sit together on a wooden porch, their attention turned toward a flowering tree beyond the railing. The scene unfolds in warm browns and oranges set against black ink outlines, giving a quiet, domestic feel to the moment. The piece belongs to the ukiyo-e tradition, created using the nishiki-e method, by Suzuki Harunobu, a Japanese artist who lived from 1725 to 1770.
