Tingari Dreaming

Story

Rows of dots sweep across the surface, forming layered circles and angular shapes that repeat in white, red, pink, brown and purple, arranged in horizontal bands across the composition. The piece carries the title Tingari Dreaming. Timmy Payungka Tjapangati, an Australian painter born in 1942 and died in 2000, created this work within the Aboriginal dot painting tradition, using pattern and color to render a layered, symbolic landscape.

Where it works

Warm-toned artwork suited to living rooms and dining rooms, and to restaurants, in a horizontal format.
