Bamboo Yards, Kyobashi Bridge

Story

A wooden bridge arches over a river while bamboo yards line the bank below, a lone boatman moving through the water under a full moon set against a turquoise sky. This nishiki-e woodblock print, made with ink and color on paper, dates to 1857. It was created by Utagawa Hiroshige, a Japanese artist associated with the Utagawa school and Kasei culture, also known for Eight Views of Ōmi.
