Story
A cluster of geometric forms and sweeping curved lines fills the canvas, rendered in blue, yellow, red, and black, all gathered around a circle holding several colors at once. This oil composition was made in 1909. The artist, Wassily Kandinsky (1866–1944), was Russian, and his work connects to Expressionism and Symbolism; he later became known for Composition VII.
