Havana Harbor

Story

Palm trees lean over a harbor scene where red-roofed buildings cluster near the water, sailing vessels rest at anchor, and distant mountains rise under warm earth tones. The composition captures a quiet coastal view of Havana, rendered with a painter's attention to light and atmosphere. Willard LeRoy Metcalf (1858–1925), an American painter, created this oil work in 1902, working within the Impressionist movement. The piece comes from the Daniel J. Terra Collection, now held at the Terra Foundation for American Art.
