Story

A group of Adélie penguins stands together atop a tall iceberg, its surface painted in cool tones of pale green, white, and dark teal that give the ice a glowing, almost translucent quality. The arrangement rises in a vertical format, drawing the eye upward along the frozen mass. Painted in oil on wood in 2008, the piece comes from Alexis Rockman, an American painter associated with pop art.

Where it works

Cool-toned artwork suited to living rooms and dens, and to hotel guest rooms, in a horizontal format.
