Alexis Rockman is an American contemporary artist renowned for his imaginative paintings exploring climate change, evolution, genetic engineering, and humanity’s impact on the natural world. Born in New York City in 1962, Rockman developed an early fascination with science and natural history through frequent visits to the American Museum of Natural History. He studied animation at the Rhode Island School of Design before earning a fine arts degree from the School of Visual Arts in New York.
