Story
Seven panels stretch across the composition, each one holding icebergs built from pale blue and white ice shapes that rise above dark, still water. Overhead, stormy gray clouds press down, giving the whole arrangement a cold, heavy atmosphere. The piece was made using oil and wax on gessoed paper in 2008. Alexis Rockman, an American painter born in 1962, works within the pop art movement.
