Cherry Blossoms

Story

Delicate branches of pink and purple blossoms spread across the paper, their petals built from soft, flowing washes. Among the flowers, small bees and other insects drift close to the blooms, adding quiet movement to the composition. The piece is rendered in watercolor, ink and gouache on paper, created in 2013. Alexis Rockman, an American painter born in 1962, associated with pop art, made this work.
