Flounder 2

Story

A flounder glows against deep darkness, its body outlined in blue, purple, and white as if lit from within. Seen from the side, the fish seems to hover in an inky void, its luminous scales standing out sharply against the black field surrounding it. This piece was made with acrylic on black paper in 2013. Alexis Rockman (born 1962) is an American painter associated with pop art.

Where it works

Cool-toned artwork suited to dens and media rooms, and to hotel guest rooms, in a horizontal format.
