Mushrooms

Story

A cluster of mushrooms and flowering plants rises into view as if seen from the ground, set against a sky tinted blue, purple, and yellow. Light and color shift above the fungi and blossoms, giving the composition an upward, open feel. The piece is rendered in watercolor and acrylic on paper, created in 2022 by Alexis Rockman (born 1962), an American painter associated with pop art.

Where it works
