Brita's Cactus

Story

A small child dressed in dark clothing stands near a potted cactus with red blooms, inside a room where framed pictures hang on the walls behind. The scene captures a quiet domestic moment. Carl Larsson, a Swedish artist who lived 1853–1919, created this work in connection with the Arts and Crafts movement. He also made Brita at the Piano and Ett hem, among other pieces reflecting his life in Sweden.

Where it works

Warm-toned artwork suited to living rooms and kitchens, and to restaurants, in a vertical format.
