Story

A bridge spans a riverside town rendered in soft cream, brown, and blue washes, with hazy light softening the buildings and water below, possibly showing Coblenz. The sketch is done in graphite and watercolour on paper, created in 1841. It reflects English painting and Romanticism, by Joseph Mallord William Turner (1775–1851), a British artist also known for Calais Pier.
