A Sunny Day

Story

Open fields stretch beneath a wide blue sky, with scattered trees breaking the green expanse and soft white clouds drifting overhead. The warmth of the day settles across the grass, giving the whole scene a bright, open feel. Julian Onderdonk painted this oil on wood panel in 1909, working within American Impressionism. The piece came to the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston through the Rienzi Collection, part of its holdings today.
